Motor Homes Answer The Holiday Drive

Illawarra Mercury

Sunday September 14, 1997

A motor home can be driven from Dapto to Darwin or Primbee to Perth.

A motor home is just like a real home, except there are wheels attached.

John Tynan, of Tynan Motors in Sydney, has joined forces with motor home makers Winnebago to form Tynan Motors-Winnebago Motor Homes.

Mr Tynan said motor homes were best suited to the over 55s.

"It's a fantastic concept, it's just like a home on wheels," he said.

"We find they are most popular with the senior citizens and are far more practical for them to use."

Tynan Motors joined forces with Winnebago 12 months ago. Both companies have been in operation around 30 years.

"We now complement each other and we (Tynan Motors) have become the distributor of motor homes." Mr Tynan said.

And more people, especially senior citizens, were recognising the benefits. Sales have grown by 15 per cent in the past three years.

A motor home from Tynan Motors-Winnebago Motor Homes can be bought or hired. They come in all shapes and sizes, from the simple pop-top which fits the home garage to the delux model, which can stretch to 9m.

A motor home can fit two to six people and can be driven all over Australia.

Mr Tynan said his business had a try-before-

you-buy scheme and the mobile homes did not depreciate in sale comared to automobiles.
